Technique Talk: Meet Emily Chong

Today I dove into conversation with Emily Chong from the Glamourhead Sharks Swimming Club.

Emily talks about how she first met the Glams and started training with them.

How did you become involved with the Glams?

“I moved to Melbourne 8 months ago and was recommended to join Glamourheads by my London club Out to Swim.”

What is your personal aim this season?

“Enjoy the Aussie open water scene!”

What is your favourite stroke?

“In swimming terms, I like point to point open water swims. I find the ever changing conditions / scenery / temperature a lot more interesting and challenging than up and down a pool.’

What training drill do you dread the most?

“I hate swimming with rubber band round my ankles… can you guess why?”

What has been your biggest achievement with the Glams?

“Swimming my first ever butterfly race, the English Channel and getting almost 20 pool swimmers to voluntarily do open water drills.”

Why would you suggest people get involved with the Glams?

“It’s a really friendly club and a great way to make friends while getting some exercise!”
